Robotaxi at LAX: not served
Los Angeles International Airport, Los Angeles. Status: Not served
Updated .
No robotaxi serves Los Angeles International. Waymo's Los Angeles page says it does not serve LAX, and Electric Vehicles reported that the airport's operator has granted no autonomous vehicle access and has no timeline. The same report describes a workaround: take a Waymo to the LAX/Metro Transit Center, then the free shuttle to the terminals.
Waymo's Los Angeles area is large, at more than 120 sq mi as of mid-2025, and reaches Inglewood and Westchester via La Cienega and La Brea, close to the airport. Anyone can ride in the Waymo app. MOIA and Zoox are both testing in Los Angeles without public riders, so neither offers an airport option.
The same Electric Vehicles report said Waymo asked riders to contact Los Angeles officials in support of LAX access, which puts the decision with the airport rather than with Waymo's map. Waymo's area already includes Playa del Rey and Westchester, the neighborhoods next to the airport, so the gap is the terminal loop itself.
