Riding Waymo in Orlando

Spectrum News 13 reported Waymo's Orlando debut for select riders on Feb 24, 2026, and the city opened to all on Apr 15, 2026, the same day as Miami. Waymo names Parramore, Richmond Heights, Williamsburg, Florida Center and Southwest Orlando among its neighborhoods, and Electrek estimated about 60 sq mi in April 2026. Simplified from Waymo's map, the outline runs from Callahan, Parramore and downtown south through Florida Center and Williamsburg to Southchase.

Orlando isn't on Uber, so rides go through the Waymo app. Solo riders must be 18 or older, teen accounts aren't offered, and Orlando International Airport is not on Waymo's help-center airport list, which rules out a ride to MCO. Freeways are unclear, since Waymo's April 2026 Florida post mentions highway trips only for Miami. When the car arrives, the roof dome shows your initials, you can honk or play a melody from the app to find it, and the how-to-ride guide covers the rest.

The two driverless operators in Orlando serve different sides of town. Tesla Robotaxi launched on Jul 21, 2026 in about 26.2 sq mi east and southeast of downtown, around Conway and Lee Vista, through the Tesla app, and it takes children 8 to 17 with an adult. Waymo covers more ground, about 60 sq mi, and is the pick for trips to downtown, Parramore, Florida Center or the southwest.
