Operators in Orlando

  • Driverless

Ages: 18 and older to book or ride alone. Riders aged 8 to 17 can take a Model Y Robotaxi with an adult, never alone. Cybercab rides are for ages 13 and up with an adult, and no one under 8 can ride.

  • Driverless

Since Apr 15, 2026: open to all riders, after a debut for select riders on Feb 24, 2026 (reported). Book in: Waymo app. Service area about 60 sq mi.

Ages: 18 and older to ride alone, with no teen accounts offered here.

Where the cars go

Orlando's two robotaxi zones sit on opposite sides of town. Waymo covers the west and southwest: from Callahan, Parramore and downtown south through Richmond Heights, Florida Center and Williamsburg to Southchase. Electrek estimated it at about 60 sq mi in April 2026.

Tesla works the east side. Its zone runs along Semoran Blvd (SR 436) through Conway, Azalea Park and Lee Vista, with SR-408 to the north, SR 417 to the east and the Beachline (SR 528) to the south. That puts it right next to Orlando International Airport, but the airport itself is not included. Waymo doesn't serve MCO either, so neither operator can get you to a flight.

The quickest way to choose an app here is by neighborhood. Parramore, Callahan, downtown, Richmond Heights, Williamsburg, Florida Center and Southchase are on Waymo's map. Conway, Azalea Park and Lee Vista, along the Semoran Blvd corridor south of SR-408, are on Tesla's. Downtown and Conway sit in different maps, so a trip between them falls outside both services.

What to know in Orlando

Waymo arrived first. Spectrum News 13 reported its debut for select riders on Feb 24, 2026, and Waymo opened the app to everyone in Orlando on Apr 15, 2026, the same day as Miami. That announcement mentioned highway trips only for Miami, and it's unclear whether Orlando rides use them.

Tesla followed on Jul 21, 2026, launching here and in Tampa the same day. Several outlets reported unsupervised Model Y rides with no one in the front seats. Riders under 18 can't book or ride alone, but ages 8 to 17 can ride with an adult. Florida law lets a fully autonomous vehicle operate with or without a person aboard, and the Florida rules page has the details. Compare both services on the Waymo vs Tesla page.

Electrek's April 2026 estimate of about 60 sq mi makes Waymo's Orlando area about the size of its Miami launch area. Tesla hasn't published a size for its Orlando zone, so the two can only be compared by the neighborhoods each map names.
