Riding Tesla in Las Vegas
In Las Vegas, Tesla's paperwork is further along than its service. Axios reported that on Jul 27, 2026 the Nevada Transportation Authority issued Tesla a permit for 10 robotaxis on the Las Vegas Strip corridor, with a 45 mph cap, appropriate human supervision and no airport pickups, after Tesla had asked for 5,000. On Aug 20, 2026, TechCrunch reported that Nevada approved Tesla for up to 5,000 robotaxis in Clark County over 12 months, and that Tesla's Cybercab chief engineer told regulators 5,000 had always been a ceiling.
No source shows a rider booking a Tesla in Las Vegas, and nothing has been published on an area beyond the Strip corridor, a fare or a start date. Service would run in the Tesla Robotaxi app, which Tesla uses in every city. Its rider rules elsewhere require an adult account holder 18 or older.
Tesla's driverless public rides run in Texas and Florida: Austin, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando and Tampa, plus the two-seat Cybercab in Austin. In Las Vegas, Zoox sells rides between fixed stops and the airport, Waymo admits waitlisted riders into a 24 sq mi zone, and Motional takes Uber requests with an operator at the wheel. The Tesla page lists each city.
