Riding Waymo in Las Vegas
The cars are driverless, but riders come in from a sign-up list that passed 100,000 people. Admitted riders go door to door within nearly 24 sq mi, with pickups along Las Vegas Blvd from Boulder Junction up to Sahara Ave (SR 589) and a zone that stretches from the edge of Spring Valley east to Winchester, a few miles either side of I-15. Allegiant Stadium has a dedicated pickup zone under Waymo's Aug 13, 2026 deal as official autonomous ride-hailing partner of the Raiders and the stadium, and The Venetian is a named destination.
Waymo published its Las Vegas rate as a $9.49 base plus $1.23 a mile and $0.45 a minute, before tolls, fees and surcharges, and the estimate shows before you confirm. Freeways are excluded, and News 3 LV reported that rides don't include Harry Reid airport at this stage. Solo riders must be 18, teen accounts aren't offered, and riders who need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle are sent to local cab companies. More on prices is on what Waymo costs.
Zoox handles the Strip differently. It is open to anyone, links fixed stops and serves both airport terminals, while Waymo picks you up almost anywhere in its zone once access arrives. Motional runs on Uber with a vehicle operator at the wheel, and Tesla holds a Nevada permit with no public riders confirmed.
