Where the cars go

Zoox runs between designated stops along Las Vegas Blvd and a few spurs. On the North Strip those are Resorts World (its launch partner), Fontainebleau, Wynn and Encore, with ARIA, Bellagio, New York-New York and MGM Grand in the middle and Luxor, Excalibur and Mandalay Bay to the south. Off the Strip it adds AREA15 west of I-15, Topgolf, Fashion Show Mall and the Las Vegas Convention Center, plus Sphere and T-Mobile Arena for events only. Harry Reid International Airport joined the list on Sep 3, 2026.

Waymo works door to door inside a zone of nearly 24 sq mi: the Strip from Boulder Junction up to Sahara Ave (SR 589), and from the edge of Spring Valley east to Winchester, a few miles either side of I-15. Allegiant Stadium has a dedicated pickup zone. Waymo skips the airport and freeways. Motional, which still has an operator behind the wheel, uses rideshare zones at Resorts World, Encore, Westgate, curbside Downtown Las Vegas and Town Square.

What to know in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is the one city where anyone can book a paid Zoox ride. Free public rides opened on Sep 10, 2025 with 5 stops, and paid rides began on Aug 10, 2026. Zoox's recall 26E044000 (Jul 10, 2026) covered 105 vehicles whose software could fail to detect heavy smoke, and the software was updated. Zoox and Uber planned to bring Zoox to the Uber app in summer 2026, but no source confirms that launch, so Zoox runs in its own app.

Waymo is newer here. Since Sep 14, 2026 it has admitted riders gradually from a waitlist of more than 100,000 sign-ups. Tesla is not carrying the public yet: Axios reported a Jul 27, 2026 permit for 10 robotaxis on the Strip corridor with no airport pickups, and TechCrunch reported a Nevada approval for up to 5,000 in Clark County over 12 months. Read the Nevada rules for the state framework.
