About Pony.ai
Pony.ai runs fully driverless commercial robotaxis in China and supervised services in several other countries, often through a local transport partner. Its Gen-7 vehicles began fully driverless commercial service in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Beijing on Nov 6, 2025. The fleet stood at 1,975 robotaxis on Jun 30, 2026, and Pony.ai is aiming for 3,500 or more by year end. Those Chinese cities share one China page.
Outside China, every public ride still has someone on board. Three cities carry paying or invited riders with a safety operator. Doha has had a fare-charging pilot with Mowasalat since December 2025, booked in the Karwa app and covering Old Doha and West Bay. Singapore opened public bookings on Jun 22, 2026 in ComfortDelGro's Zig app on a fixed route in northern Punggol. In Zagreb, riders can book Verne-operated Pony.ai cars on Uber from Aug 2026, with a licensed operator behind the wheel.
Driverless trials began in Dubai in April 2026, and Pony.ai expects paid public service there later in 2026. London is at the announcement stage. On Oct 8, 2026, Uber and Pony.ai said Gen-7 testing would start there in the coming weeks.
Booking and riding
Each city uses its partner's app. In Doha that's Karwa, from Mowasalat, and Pony.ai says the Doha service includes a connection to Hamad International Airport, still with a safety operator. Singapore bookings go through Zig, on a route linking homes in Punggol with Punggol Coast MRT, Punggol Coast Mall, One Punggol, Oasis Terrace and Punggol Plaza. Rides there are free during this phase, and Singapore's LTA has said safety operators stay on board. In Zagreb you use the Uber app, and Pony.ai gives service hours of 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. across key areas including the city centre.
Rides with no operator at all have happened outside China only in demonstrations. Pony.ai let members of the public ride Gen-7 cars with no operator in Doha during the AEMOB forum on Sep 7 to 9, 2026. Self Drive News reported that Verne began invited driverless test rides on a 22 km Zagreb route on Sep 10, 2026. No age rules or fare tables have been published for Pony.ai's cities, so check the partner app in each one.
Recalls and investigations
No Pony.ai recall or regulator investigation is on record. The Pony.ai history to date is made of launches and plans: China's driverless Gen-7 service from Nov 6, 2025, the Doha pilot, Singapore bookings from Jun 22, 2026, Zagreb on Uber, Dubai trials from April 2026 and the London testing announcement of Oct 8, 2026. Should a recall or investigation surface, it will be added to the safety log with dates and numbers.
