About May Mobility
May Mobility runs small autonomous services, including microtransit with a Minnesota transit agency and a pilot on Lyft. An operator rides along on every live service. Three places carry riders that way, and a fourth has been announced.
The Atlanta pilot on Lyft launched on Sep 10, 2025 with a small fleet of Toyota Sienna vehicles and standby operators, around Midtown, Virginia Highlands, Old Fourth Ward and Inman Park. It runs Monday to Friday in limited hours. In Minnesota, Eden Prairie has commercial autonomous microtransit with SouthWest Transit, and Grand Rapids has the free on-demand goMARTI service, which also serves the neighboring Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Reservation and expanded as goMARTI 2.0 in December 2025. Minnesota law requires a licensed human driver, so both run with operators on board.
Arlington, Texas comes next, with May Mobility targeting a commercial launch with Uber in Q4 2026 or Q1 2027. One outside tracker already lists it as live on Uber, but no launch has been confirmed.
Booking and riding
Each place uses a different app. In Atlanta you request a standard or Wait & Save ride in Lyft. Inside the Midtown zone during service hours, you may be matched with a May Mobility car, and Lyft has published no surcharge. Eden Prairie riders book through Prime, SouthWest Transit's app, which is powered by Spare. Grand Rapids rides on goMARTI are free.
With an operator riding along everywhere, the trip feels a lot like a shuttle or a normal ride-hail. The car drives itself and the operator is ready to take the wheel. For age, luggage and airport rules, check the app you book with. Arlington riders are expected to use the Uber app once service begins.
Recalls and investigations
There are no May Mobility recalls or regulator investigations on record. Two events are logged, the Atlanta pilot launch on Lyft on Sep 10, 2025 and the Arlington target announced on Sep 16, 2026. All current services run with a standby operator or licensed driver on board. Any new item will go into the safety log.
